Ngā Aho Whakaari has championed Māori in screen industries for 30 years. They needed a website that reflected this legacy and showcased their current mahi.
Nui collaborated closely with Ngā Aho Whakaari during 2024 to create a dynamic, user-friendly platform that embodies their values, legacy, community and activities.
Upon handover, the website (ngaahowhakaari.org) featured a clean, modern design with intuitive navigation and imagery that captured their work. The site showcased member achievements, upcoming events, and industry resources, with a homepage that honoured the organisation’s three decades of work in the screen industry.
The Māori Screen Directory was a key part of the Ngā Aho Whakaari website, and was created in partnership with Te Tumu Whakaata Taonga New Zealand Film Commission. Designed to foster community engagement and grow opportunities for economic development, the directory showcased Māori practitioners across the industry and was backed by a CMS (content management system) we built to cater to the needs of Practitioners, Producers and funders. The tool featured dedicated profile pages for members and detailed search filters all backed by digital infrastructure that ensured connecting with industry members was simple and safe.
