Events are a great way for brands to get amongst their audience. It's an opportunity to build whanaungatanga and trust, gather valuable insight and ultimately show your audience that as a brand, you're present and you genuinely care.
Grasping this opportunity, we were asked by Kōrero, the audience research arm of Whakaata Māori to attend #MARANGA, a community concert designed to raise relief funds for those impacted by Cyclone Gabrielle on the East Coast. Our task, kōrero with rangatahi and whānau attending #MARANGA, encourage them to join the Kōrero research database and share their thoughts on what Whakaata Māori should play.
Audience research is our thing, audience research at events? Leeet's go. Our team of promotional staff spent the day listening, sharing kōrero and gaining an insight into what audience members of Whakaata Māori want to see. With ipads in tow and a target of over 100 sign ups per team member, it was a full on day filled with rich kōrero (and entertainment, too!).
From māmā and pāpā to rangatahi and tamariki, we spoke to hundreds of people and by the end of the event, we had increased the Kōrero Research database by over 15%. Not bad for a one-day event!
This is just one example of the type of research we're capable of, and love engaging in. Whether it's at an event holding quick fire conversations, or an in depth wānanga with qualitative insight, our team have got you sorted.
